General Preparation Materials

This test is being redeveloped, and the last administration will be July 31, 2022. The redeveloped Physical Education test is now available. On April 24, 2019, Governor Inslee signed HB 1621, a bill to help admit more candidates into the teaching profession by removing the requirement of meeting a specific score on the WEST–B (WA Educator Skills Test - Basic) exam.

4. Identify Your Portfolio System

Candidates will register on this website for the edTPA pilot. Some candidates will continue on this site and build their portfolio here, while other candidates will build their portfolio on another portfolio system currently in use at their educator preparation program. 5. Review the Submission and Reporting Dates

edTPA scores are released to candidates according to the submission and reporting dates schedule. Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs) may access candidates' scores in ResultsAnalyzer® 24 hours after candidates receive scores as indicated on the submission and reporting dates schedule.

6. Register for edTPA

  • Review the edTPA Registration Overview , which describes the registration process and details the information you will be asked to provide when you register.
  • When you are ready, follow the instructions to register for edTPA.

7. Access Your edTPA Handbook

Candidates will access the required assessment handbooks and templates via their educator preparation program, and will also be able to download these materials in the portfolio system they use to build their portfolios.
